Individual Sex therapy

Individual sex therapy is a form of psychotherapy focused on addressing sexual concerns and enhancing sexual well-being on a personal level. It involves working one-on-one with a trained therapist to explore issues such as sexual dysfunction, low libido, performance anxiety, and the impact of past trauma on sexual health. Through open and non-judgmental discussions, the therapist helps the individual understand and overcome these challenges, develop a healthier relationship with their sexuality, and improve overall sexual satisfaction and self-esteem.

couples therapy

Couples therapy is a form of psychotherapy aimed at helping partners improve their relationship. It involves working with a trained therapist who assists couples in addressing conflicts, enhancing communication, and strengthening their emotional connection. The therapy provides a safe and supportive environment where partners can express their feelings, identify patterns of behavior that may be causing issues, and develop effective strategies for resolving disputes and building a healthier, more fulfilling relationship. Couples therapy can be beneficial for addressing a wide range of issues, including communication problems, infidelity, intimacy concerns, and major life transitions.

EMDR THERAPY

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy method used to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences and traumatic memories. EMDR involves a structured approach where the therapist guides the client through recalling traumatic events while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, typically through eye movements, taps, or auditory tones. This process is believed to help reprocess the traumatic memories, reducing their emotional impact and helping the individual integrate these memories in a healthier way. EMDR has been shown to be effective for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.

Healing sexual trauma

Helping people heal from sexual trauma and abuse is an area that I am very passionate about supporting. Statistically we know that one in five women in the United States experienced completed or attempted rape during their lifetime. We also know that nearly a quarter (24.8%) of men in the U.S. experienced some form of contact sexual violence in their lifetime. And 44% of lesbian women have experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime, while 26% of gay men have as well (that number increases to 37% for bisexual men). Bisexual women, trans women, and women of color experience higher risks. Therapy for those that have experienced sexual trauma includes modalities such as sex therapy and EMDR therapy. “Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.”
